Situated on the northern end of the Bruce Highway, Cairns is home to about 87,000 people and blends city sophistication with a laidback, always-on-holiday atmosphere.

It is the major centre of the Far North Queensland region, which is the fastest growing tourist region in Australia, and it's easy to see why. Head east and you'll find the Great Barrier Reef. If you go west you will meet rainforests in the mountains and the beautiful Atherton Tablelands. At other points of the compass there are the beaches of the Marlin Coast to explore.
