Aramac, once the hub of the region, is now a small agricultural town at the heart of fascinating country. Discover the Aramac Range through desert country with its red sand, spinifex and wild heather. Visit Lake Dunn, a freshwater lake which is a birdwatcher's paradise.
Other attractions in the region include Gray Rock, on which the names of early travellers were carved back in the days when the area was a mail change, and Horsetailers Gorge, once a camp for drovers but now a picnic area for visitors.
While in Aramac, visit the Aramac Tramway Museum. And take a tour out to Gracevale Station, where rare examples of traditional aboriginal art can be found. |
