Birdwatching, fishing or barbecues at weir
THE LLOYD Jones Weir is a popular spot for all kinds of activities. Situated 5km along the Blackall Road then 9km down the Barcaldine Downs Road, it has been well used by locals since it was built in the early 1950s.
Relax under the shady eucalypts and have a picnic or a barbecue there. Birdwatching is a rewarding pastime for some, while others like to fish there. Camping is allowed. The area is also used for swimming and water sports during the wet season.
