Augathella, 86km up the road from Charleville, was once a campsite for bullock teams. If the bullockies thought it was a great camp, maybe you will too.

Visit the Kenniff Tree, and learn about the bushrangers who frequented these parts. Check out the murals (pictured and wrought iron sculptures in Main Street and learn about the Great Artesian Basin at the Augathella water tower. Watch Outback to Augathella, a 20-minute documentary covering the town’s history, characters and humour. Take time to walk along the picturesque Warrego River or complete the 4x4 trail along the Augathella Stock Route.
