MARY Kathleen Park will be buzzing on July 5, 6 and 7 with the amazing Rockhana Gem and Mineral Festival. It showcases local fossicking sites and gems to be found in the Cloncurry Shire and also celebrates the mineral boom being exper­ienced in the region.

Other events during the year include the Cloncurry Show from June 15 to 17, the Stockmen’s Challenge and Campdraft and Quamby Rodeo both in July, the Merry Muster Rotary Rodeo from August 3 to 5 and a number of race meetings. Also browse through the Cloncurry Markets, held every second Saturday at Florence Clarke Park (March to December).
