Croydon, once a mining town of boom proportions, relaxed back to small town status many years ago. But even today, much survives of its early, golden years.

A walking tour around the historic precinct will give you an appreciation of the town's past. See the remaining architecture and pore over the old equipment set up in a parkland display.

More historic sites can be found out of town. Also visit Lake Belmore, where you can try your luck with a fishing rod.
