Bullriding and festival fun
BULL RIDING, country music and a carnival atmosphere with heaps of fun and entertainment will make the Cunnamulla Fella Festival a top event to attend in November.
Saturday, November 17 will be the main day of the festival, with the drawcard being the PBR Australia Bullriding Championships. Don cowboy hat, jeans and your brightest shirt and join the Cunnamulla cowboys to see some of Australia’s finest professional bullriders as they test their courage and skill against the best competition bulls in the State.
The Cunnamulla bullride is the richest bull ride in Queensland’s outback, and the coveted Cunnamulla Opal buckle will be up for grabs.
Make sure you’re there the day before so you can enjoy the open air country music concert on the Friday night (November 16) in front of the shire hall where the Cunnamulla Fella statue is situated. Bring a jumper in case it turns cool during the evening.
Other festival events will include the Cunnamulla Fella Challenge, featuring teams of two contesting events like erect a fence, fill a water trough, crack a whip and use a chainsaw. The rounds will take place on Saturday morning.
