SCHOOL fetes. They’re not usually something to write home about, but the Karumba School Fete is so much fun that even if you’re not a pupil or a parent, you’ll want to go along.
This year’s fete will be held on August 11. Children’s school work will be on display during the day and for fun there will be such novelty events as cane toad races, hobby horse races and all sorts of games for the children. A children’s cent auction will be held, along with an adults’ cent auction. With rides for the kids, food stalls and cake stalls, it will have all the ingredients of school fetes the country over.
But just when you think the fete might soon start to wind down, it’s actually about to warm up. Early in the evening there is a concert for the parents, then the kids can watch movies while the adults kick back to enjoy a night of music. And the bar doesn’t close until 1.00am ...
