THE GULF Country Caravan Park is the only caravan park located within the township of Karumba. If you’re tired of driving by the time you get to Kar­umba, the park is only a short walk from the town’s bakery, butchery, pharm­acy, post office and supermarket. If it’s dining out or take-away meals that you’re after, there is a seafood restaurant directly across the road, a cafe in the next block and pub meals just two streets away.

If you’ve come for Karumba’s famously good fishing, the Gulf Country Caravan Park is close to the all-weather boat ramp, giving you access to both the Norman River and the Gulf. The park owners are committed to the local restocking program and currently sponsor two barramundi from the Gulf Barramundi Discovery Centre. You could be one of two lucky guests chosen to release one of these giant beauties at the annual Duck Race.

If fishing isn’t your thing, the park also holds a weekly craft afternoon where all are welcome to show and share their talents or simply join in for a cuppa and a chat. At the park reception, they can also help with tour bookings including ticketing of most tours and charters available.
