The area around Mount Surprise lives up to the name of this small centre - there is a surprising amount to see!

In Mount Surprise itself, you can wander around a museum filled with rocks and curiosities, or meet some miniature horses. Out of town less than 50km away are three attractions, one of which is a world renowned phenomenon, the Undara Lava Tubes.

Fossickers can try their luck at the O'Briens Creek Gemfields north of Mount Surprise and those who prefer the idea of total relaxation will enjoy a visit to Tallaroo Hot Springs.
