Richmond - home of moon rocks.

Richmond, situated in rolling downs country in northwest Queensland, is 500km from the sea. One of its biggest attractions is, believe it or not, a marine fossil museum. Kronosaurus Korner Information Centre and Richmond Fossil Centre features Australia's best vertebrate fossils exhibits, all found in the Richmond Shire.
The area is also home to moon rocks - well, that's their nickname, anyway. The limestome spheres range in size from golf balls to gigantic boulders. These spherical rocks can carry the fossilised remains of fish, shells and trees in their cores.
Richmond itself has many Federal-style buildings and outstanding gardens of bougainvilleas, so you'll find it a colourful place to visit.
